bpha Financial Statements 2019.
I helped design bpha's Group Report and Financial Statements 2018-2019 while working at Navig8, delivering a professional, resident-focused document featuring a unique die-cut cover relealing the real people living in the homes that they were placed behind. Paired with a clean interior layout that balanced financial data with human stories.

Making a financial statements report feel warm, approachable, and connected to the people bpha serves, whilst still delivering the credibility and clarity required for regulatory and stakeholder audiences.
As a housing association, bpha's annual financial report needed to present solid numbers. Operating margins, cash flows, investments, debt. All in a trustworthy way, but the bigger challenge was avoiding the typical dry, corporate feel. We wanted it to reflect the organisation's mission of providing homes and support to real people, so the design had to integrate genuine resident stories and faces. The standout idea was a die-cut cover that literally revealed the people behind the houses, turning an abstract financial document into something personal and meaningful.
Create a thoughtful die-cut cover and structured interior that brought residents into the forefront while keeping financial content clear and concise.
Whilst at Navig8, I helped execute the report by designing the cover with precise die-cuts that opened windows to reveal photographs of real bpha residents standing in their homes. This created an immediate, emotional connection. Inside, we used a clean grid, strong typography, brand colour palette, and well-integrated charts and tables to present the financials (performance metrics, cash flows, investments) alongside resident stories, quotes, and imagery that humanised the numbers. The layout stayed professional and easy to navigate, ensuring the data felt reliable whilst the overall design reinforced bpha's commitment to people and communities.
Turning a standard financial report into something that felt alive with the lives it supports. Leaving readers moved by the real people behind the numbers.
When people opened the 2019 report, the die-cut cover did something special – it literally let you see the residents smiling back from behind their houses, reminding everyone that behind every balance sheet and investment figure are families, individuals, and homes. We helped create a document that didn't just report finances, it told a powerful story of impact and care. Earning approval for its smart blend of professionalism and heart.
